Suggested by Brian LThis will only work with the non remote based fans if it has a remote it likely wont work I dont much care for remote fans to be ho.
The terminal layout may vary from one socket or switch to another therefore carefully check the location of the terminal connections before wiring. Blue wire is for the light if light is included with the fan. Take the mystery out of ceiling fan wiring. Leave the red wire that was attached to the second switch unconnected cap it with a wire nut and put a blank cover over the old switch box.
